Katherine grew up as a Navy Junior in Arlington, Virginia. After graduating from Bucknell University with a degree in economics, she moved from Washington D.C. to the Hudson Valley to co-found the Croton Sailing School and the EAST Sailing Academy with Steven Jennings. Soon after, Katherine became a licensed real estate agent and established Broad Reach Farm, a successful horse boarding and breeding operation where she raised her five children. For 35 years, she thrived as an agent and broker in the Hudson Valley, ultimately joining the prestigious luxury agency Houlihan Lawrence.
At Houlihan Lawrence, Katherine evolved from a solo agent to leading a team in Columbia County and managing multiple offices across 3600 square miles of the Hudson Valley and western Connecticut. Her ability to merge her passions for real estate, sailing, and horses enabled her to serve a diverse clientele seeking second homes on the water, rural properties, commercial ventures, or large land holdings. Over the years, Katherine became renowned for her expertise in land acquisition, guiding clients through soil evaluations, tax programs, and land preservation initiatives tailored to their unique visions.
Katherine's deep understanding of the entire region north of New York City cemented her reputation as a trusted real estate consultant. She excelled in listening to her clients' lifestyle aspirations to match them with the perfect property, balancing both their needs and budget. Her leadership extended to advising sellers on effectively positioning their properties to attract the ideal buyers in any market.
In 2012, Katherine began wintering in Fairfax and The Plains, eventually relocating her primary residence to just outside Warrenton in the heart of Old Dominion Hunt Country in 2023. A graduate of Yorktown High School in Arlington and former Team Leader of KW McLean, Katherine is a lifelong equestrian with a deep understanding of the nuances of rural Virginia towns and the D.C. suburbs.
